D’Arcy Short and Caleb Jewell gave a steady start and lost the wicket while playing defensive cricket at 26/1 on fifth over the powerplay. Short and Ben McDermott push the innings with the seven and a half run rate. Ben dismissed by Manenti during his first over spell after scoring 15 runs off 20 balls.
Hurricanes collapsed in firming the game and maintaining the run rate to set a reasonable total. HH lost four wickets in the next five overs added only 30 runs to the scoreboard. D’Arcy Short scored his first half-century of the Big Bash League 9th season with 51 runs off 40 balls.
Sean Abbot picked up three wickets in his four overs spell by conceding just 20 runs. He dismissed Caleb Jewell, Simon Milenko and James Faulkner at a critical stage of the game. BBL 9 Match 4 Results – 2nd Innings
Sydney Sixer, while chasing the total of 129 runs at Traeger Park, starting with the loss of Daniel Hughes on very last ball of first over. Philippe and James Vince started aggressively with the run rate of eight runs in the powerplay. Sixers lost the second wicket just after the powerplay when skipper handed over the ball to Riley Meredith.
Hurricanes started their second spell with Riley Meredith and Qais Ahmed a great combination of pace and spin bowling. Riley dismissed James Vince on the second ball of his very first over. Vince lost his wicket after adding 15 runs along with Philippe to the scoreboard.
