Ben cutting cameo helped Brisbane Heat to record their third straight win in the BBL 9 at Brisbane Cricket Ground. Cutting excellent innings of 43 runs for 29 balls with three boundaries and three maximums helped heat to chase down a total of 126 runs. After winning the toss, Hobart Hurricanes elected to bat first at Gabba Cricket Ground and set up a total of 127 runs in 20 over.
Brisbane Heat batting line at first crumbled to achieve the reasonable total but outstanding innings by Cutting helped to mark their 3rd victory. While batting first, Hobart Hurricanes lost three wickets in the powerplay including Caleb Jewell, Simon Milenko, and George Bailey. Matthew Wade played exemplary innings of 61 runs on the opening day of Big Bash 9.
Ben Cutting and Jimmy Peirson calmly build the innings for Heat and past the gallant Hurricanes in the low-scoring contest. Only three batsmen of Hurricanes got into double-figure, including the fast half-century by Matthew Wade. Hurricanes last the first wicket in the second over with the removal of Caleb Jewell who scored five runs of 7 balls.

Opening batsman Matthew Wade returned from national duties and scored a half-century in his very first match in the BBL 9. The only partnership between Wade and Rogers Of 39 runs geared the total of Hurricane to 126. Wade departed in 15th over after scoring 61 runs from 46 deliveries.
Simon Milenko, George Bailey, David Miller, Ben McDermott, and Caleb Jewell could not add scores to the board. After losing the first wicket Simon Milenko joined Matthew Wade at the crease, and they formed a partnership of 26 runs. BBL 9 Match 29 Heat vs Hurricanes – Except for the opening stand between Max Bryant and Tom Banton of 34 runs, Brisbane Heat starts batting line started collapsing in the middle in the chase after the low scoring total. Tom Banton scored 17 runs off 17 balls with Single boundary and single maximum. Max Bryant goes for 28 runs off 18 balls with three-fours and single maximum reasoning.
Chris Lynn and Matt Renshaw scored nine runs each while Joe Burn departed without opening his account. The only partnership of 60 runs between Peirson and Cutting helped Heat to chase the low scoring total. Ben scored the individual innings of 43 runs of 23 deliveries and brought Heat back into the game.
Ben Cutting won player of the match award for his very useful partnership with the tail-ender Thomas Rogers. Josh Lalor got three wickets and conceded 21 runs in his four overs bowling spell.
