Leg spinner Zahir Khan produced a breakthrough for Brisbane Heat in his first over of the game. Liam Livingstone missed a googly by Zahir Khan and got lbw after scoring 12 runs off ten balls. Josh Inglis and Cameron Bancroft jointly added 13 runs to the total and lost Inglis wicket for 43-2 in 5.4 overs.
Cameron Bancroft scored a half-century of Scorchers with the strike rate of just 119.4 with his 50 runs off 42 balls. His composed scored proved very useful as a team hardly managed to get 149/6 figure at the scoreboard. Despite losing wickets and having in hand, Scorcher lost the opportunity to accelerate scoring run rate throughout the game. Brisbane Heat used six bowlers in their bowling innings of which Zahir Khan and Ben Laughlin got two wickets each.
