Sam Harper and Aaron Finch started the batting innings for Renegades and lost the first wicket without scoring a single run on the board. Marsh and Finch added 74 runs in their second-wicket partnership, and Marsh dismissed at 37 runs off 30 balls on Nathan Ellis delivery.

Simon Milenko and D’Arcy Short opened the batting inning for Hurricanes in managing the required run rate. Hurricanes lost two wickets on two consecutive balls when Milenko dismissed after scoring six runs and Caleb Jawell’s wrong shot selection. Ben McDermott joined D’Arcy Short after the loss of two quick wickets on the crease and stable the innings by building an unbroken partnership of 93 runs.
D’Arcy Short scored 60 runs off 45 balls with seven boundaries and a single maximum and changed the game despite losing two quick wickets. After the loss of the third wicket, David Miller came to bat, and he finished the inning by chasing down the target.
