The opening game of the Big Bash League 2019 20 – Callum Ferguson, the skipper of Sydney Thunder, won the toss and elected to bat first. Usman Khawaja and Alex Hales open the batting innings for Thunders. Khawaja made a quick start to the innings and scored 22 runs off 13 balls with the five boundaries. He played a hook shot at the shorten length delivery by Josh Lalor and caught at the border.
First wickets of Sydney Thunder fall at just 24-1 (2.4 overs) – Callum Ferguson came to bat at number three.
